iPhone and ‘rent a quote’ tech people

Was reading this article in the Independent about the iPhone and for some reason irritated by the quote below from Tom Dunmore who is editor of ‘Stuff’ magazine:

“I think people may be a bit daunted,” he said. “There are a lot of things on the iPhone, and for the mass market it might prove just a little too complex. Having said that, it’s an example of wonderful technology and it’s years ahead of the competition. It’s the most exciting thing I’ve seen in years.”

What more daunted than trying to pick up email or get a podcast onto a standard issue Nokia? And I bet a million bucks he knows little to nothing about Apple software because relative to the usual PC and ‘smartphone’ experience would think more carefullly about his use of the word ‘complex’.
